When my own children were young, I always watched out for educational toys, learning toys and  educational games that would  stimulate their minds, create curiosity and feed their enthusiasm to learn. I have to say, I always had as much fun as they did and many of the games we used to play are still available now, such as Mastermind, although it it now comes in a new version.

My kids are all grown up and have finished university but I’m always on the look out for stimulating mind toys and games, I guess it’s now with a view to future grand children but as a qualified NLP practitioner, I have long held an interest in the power of one’s mind and I feel that if children’s minds are stimulated early enough, it will create a pathway for  a life full of mental exploration.

The first Eight or so years of a child’s life really are really essential to the primary development of both physical skills and mental capabilities.

It is thought that a child’s IQ could be enhanced by about 50 or so points at the begining of childhood with the appropriate stimulation.

While the idea of playing classical music to your baby in hopes of increasing intelligence is still being widely discussed with regards to usefulness, educational toys and games developed specifically to encourage simple math, science, and creative concepts have been verified be effective.

Educational playthings or Mind Toys are crucial in developing a child’s mind. They are entertaining, stimulate creativity, and help in the fundamental skills a young child needs to grasp for school years and living. They come in all styles, designs, and different shades so maybe the word “educational” may not be so uninteresting after all.
